3 lips is used in bar mills and roughing mills and it has a primary radial lip to avoid leakage of bearing lubricant, a secondary radial lip to avoid entrance of dirt and a V-ring integrated in the seal, acting as first barrier against dirt and cooling water coming from the steel process.
Since no retaining plate is available in the seal housing, Carcoseal 3 lips has a metal band inside the rubber to offer seal stability.
